Iditarod Training Updates
SHEEP MOUNTAIN 150 |
Training/Race Update: We
did the Sheep Mountain 150 race. There was a lot of the top musher’s
there. And then there was musher’s like me trying to get miles
on there dogs, testing there dogs and themselves. The first leg of
the race was the toughest part, the hills were said to be moderate
in size. We start and run up old glen highway and then cut back and
start making the first climb. It took my dogs and I six and a half
hours to do the first leg which is 50 miles. We get to Eureka lodge
the first check point and I evaluate the dogs, and found it would
not benefit the dogs to go on so we pulled out .We will keep training
and preparing for the Klondike 300.Till next time safe trails.

OCTOBER 2005
TRAINING LOG:
It almost the end of October and we have been teased by cold temperatures
and snow. Training has been very good and we have been busy. The 4
wheeler is our friend right now but snow and a sled would be nice.
We have been running on our 4 wheelers straight from the house. We
recently took a trip to New York to get married on October 9th and
now my wife Diana and I have returned, and back to training. We have
our freezers stocked with salmon, and our tuning up our sleds. I have
signed up for the Sheep Mountain 150 to get ready for the CB300. We
will update more as training continues .Safe trails and
check in often for updates.
